CITA's aim is to encourage participants in the Irish construction industry to take full advantage of current and emerging information and communication technologies. Its membership includes over 100 organisations from across the construction sector.

BIW joined CITA soon after winning its first projects in Ireland in 2003 and delivered the first CITA courses on construction collaboration technologies in 2005.
