BIW has been providing supply chain integration services to its customers since 1999.

We deploy, host and manage access to our SaaS applications from centrally managed facilities. Our core services were developed in partnership with UK government, universities and several major construction industry clients, professionals and contractors.

Since the mid 1990s, the UK AEC industry has seen a gradual move towards more collaborative ways of working. This shift has parallelled the development and AEC adoption of new ICT capabilities (email, websites, broadband communications, etc), with the first major clients beginning to use "extranets" in the late 1990s. In the early years of the 21st century these movements began to converge, but the emerging ICT businesses had to weather the bursting of the dot.com bubble in 2001.

Nonetheless, BIW Technologies, with its strong foundation in collaborative working and its deep understanding of the business-critical ICT issues, became the accepted market leader in 2003, and consolidated its position over the next two years. For its achievements, it won the prestigious Building Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2006, as adoption of it systems continued to accelerate and the business moved into a period of sustained profitability.

During the second half of the 2000s, BIW maintained its market leadership as the industry moved forward in Europe, the Middle East and, increasingly, around the globe. Turnover grew by a quarter in 2007 and in 2008 BIW declared a £1.1m profit, buoyed by major clients wins in the UK, Dubai and the USA.

In December 2010, BIW joined forces with German-based conject in a deal that united Europe's leading providers of ILM software applications to the engineering, construction and real estate industries. The group now offers customers a full range of applications to support asset-based projects through their whole lifecycle: from concept, design and construction through to facilities management.
