BIW BOOSTS DUBAI HOSTINGSaaS specialist selects ASPGulf as managed hosting provider 3 December 2007 BIW Technologies (BIW) has implemented a new locally hosted infrastructure to support its Middle East customers. BIW, a global leader in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications to support the architecture, engineering, construction, property and infrastructure sectors, is now delivering improved services to its end users and ensuring its applications and its client data are securely hosted within the region. BIW opened its Middle East office in Dubai in 2006 and after winning several major commissions in the region decided to augment its UK hosting facilities to maintain consistently high levels of service. After researching the market, it chose ASPGulf for its commitment to meeting BIW's requirements for hosting mission-critical software and data. "Establishing a new managed hosting infrastructure in the UAE demonstrates BIW’s commitment to our local customers' needs," says Asif Sharif, BIW's general manager, Middle East. "BIW has several strong customer relationships and our technology is being employed on numerous prestigious developments. With the recent launch of a BIW helpdesk supporting the Gulf region, our partnership with ASPGulf further underlines our focus on quality of service in the Middle East market." ASPGulf deploys its clients' web servers in two internet data centres which are constructed to world-class hosting standards, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The latter – used by BIW – has recently been enhanced and is one of the most sophisticated centres in the region. Its facilities are also designed to cater for disaster recovery requirements with redundancy being built in at all levels – equipment, network, electricity, connectivity and location. Chris Jaguros, general manager at ASPGulf said: "We are delighted at BIW's decision to work with us. BIW is well-known within the construction collaboration market for its exacting hosting requirements, and it was a challenging commission to win. We are already developing detailed plans to enhance the service resilience we provide for BIW and its regional customers and end-users." In October 2007, BIW established an office in India. This was set up as an additional centre for customer support across the Middle East, and to provide additional resources to work with BIW's UK-based product management and software teams on the continued development of BIW’s core products. - ends - More information from: Notes to editors About BIW: - Project collaboration services from BIW Technologies (www.biwtech.com) were first employed in 1999 on UK construction projects for Sainsbury's.
