Alongside Andrew Boaden and Colin Smith, Bill Flind helped launch BIW Technologies in 2000, and is finance director. As a 'serial entrepreneur' with extensive experience in managing the commercial and financial aspects of start-ups and high-growth businesses, Flind has focused on giving BIW a solid sustainable foundation for future growth. The company has achieved its high-growth rate while maintaining a sound balance sheet and successfully financing its expanding operations from existing cash flow.

Flind has been creating and growing businesses for over 23 years. He was a co-founder of Team Systems in 1983 (acquired by Misys for £10m in 1989), and subsequently served as a member of the Misys operating board. In 1992, with Boaden, he was an angel investor in the start-up of an outdoor advertising business that was subsequently sold in 1999 for £15m.
