GLEEDS SECURES £10 MILLION O2 APPOINTMENT

‘One-stop shop’ solution supported by BIW Information Channel

O2 UK, has appointed international construction consultancy Gleeds to provide an integrated package of management, design, procurement and other related services for the refurbishment of 92 high street outlets. The ten-month project is valued at approximately £10 million.

O2, Gleeds and all other parties involved in the programme will share and exchange all project-related information – including drawings, documents, photographs and comments – in a secure, database-driven environment provided by BIW Technologies. Gleeds will be supporting the deployment and use of the web-based BIW Information Channel collaboration service across the project team.

“Gleeds has used BIW Information Channel before on several large one-off projects,” said Gleeds partner Stuart Senior

“However, the flexibility of the software means it is ideally suited to deal with a multi-site roll-out programme. Some information is applicable to all stores, some to certain phases and some only to specific stores. Gleeds has configured the BIW software to allow information to be viewed in this manner. This will benefit not only the delivery of the programme, but also O2’s internal information requirements from finance, marketing, branding, procurement, health and safety, IT and store management.”
