BIW TECHNOLOGIES EXPANDS REGIONAL OFFICE

Friday, December 02, 2005

Following a period of significant growth, continued investment in its UK software development, product support and help-desk teams has prompted construction collaboration technology provider BIW Technologies (BIW) to move its growing Nottingham team to new, larger offices.

The new location is still in Nottingham Science and Technology Park, and has more than twice the space of the previous premises.

The new Nottingham office address is:

Units 13 & 14, Faraday Building, Nottingham Science & Technology Park, University Boulevard, Nottingham NG7 2QP

Tel: 0115 951 7710, Fax: 0115 951 7712

Help desk: 0845 1300 999 (international: +44(0)115 951 7711)

“Our Nottingham team now has more space to accommodate future growth in staff numbers,” says Colin Smith, BIW’s chief executive. “And, by the addition of dedicated meeting rooms and training facilities, we will further improve the quality of services for our existing and future customers.

“We grew our revenues by more than 30 per cent in the year to 30 September 2005, and the business now employs over 50 people in the UK – up from 40 at the start of the year. As we continue to out-perform most of our competitors, BIW customers can be heartened by our continued expansion.”

Notes to editors:

  • Project collaboration services from BIW Technologies (www.biwtech.com) were first employed in 1999 on UK construction projects for Sainsbury’s. BIW believes it is the European leader in web-based collaboration systems for the construction and property industry, measured by numbers of users, usage and volume of data. At 27 November 2004, its system was being used by some 51,000 users from 5300 companies on some 3500 projects with a total value of over £23 billion.
  • BIW Information Channel is a sophisticated web-based supply chain integration technology, designed specifically for construction projects or programmes. Each client is provided with a unique, project or programme-specific website created around a knowledge database. With this, data can be made available securely to every team member – from the earliest concepts, through detailed design, buildability studies, pre-fabrication, construction, maintenance, operation and improvement to the eventual demolition or dismantling of the facility.
  • BIW customers include United Utilities, Sainsbury’s, BAA, housebuilders Crest Nicholson and the Peabody Trust, Marks & Spencer, the Ministry of Defence, the Wellcome Trust, O2, Mace, Bovis Lend Lease, Kajima and developers Land Securities and Garbe.
  • BIW and BIW Information Channel are registered trademarks or trademarks of BIW Technologies Ltd.
