PRIMUS BUILD PICKS BIW Contractor to use BIW Software-as–a-Service collaboration platform 28 January 2008 Contractor Primus Build has selected BIW Technologies (BIW) to provide its Software-as-a-Service construction collaboration platform to support existing and future projects. Formed in early 2007 by Martin Tidd and Simon Cook, both former directors of Multiplex's UK construction division, Primus Build aims to provide property and construction solutions across the range of residential, retail and commercial sectors in London and the south. Current Primus Build projects include an £8m hotel and office project in Portsmouth and a £33m residential project in Greenwich, south-east London. Martin Tidd, chief executive of Primus Build, said: "We established the company to fill a niche in the £5m-£50m value range, where good coordination of information and processes is of paramount importance. As a new business we have been able to design our operations to incorporate innovative working methods and to use best-of-breed technologies like BIW’s to benefit our clients and our supply chain partners." BIW chief executive Colin Smith adds: "We have a strong track record of working on schemes in the £5m-£50 range, supporting many well-known contractors and developers. While Primus Build is a relatively new name in the industry, it has already demonstrated its commitment to using state-of-the-art web-based technologies on its projects, and we are looking forward to supporting its future project portfolio." - ends - For more information, please contact: Notes to editors: - Project control and collaboration services from BIW Technologies (www.biwtech.com) were first employed in 1999 on UK construction projects for Sainsbury’s.
