BIW to support £100m NEC3 Dulux Factory project in North East
(19th March 2012)
AkzoNobel the worlds largest producer of paints and coatings has selected BIW's Project Control and NEC3 Contracts Management applications to underpin the delivery of its new hi-tec facility in Ashington, Northumberland.
AkzoNobel who's products include: Dulux, Cuprinol, Hammerite and Polycell said its site in Ashington would be "one of the biggest manufacturing investments in the region in recent years". Building is due to begin later this year and the factory expected to open in late 2014, when its Prudhoe site will close.
BIW's systems will integrate the global project team with all drawings, documents and activities in conjunction with the exact terms, conditions and timescales of the specified NEC3 contract (including its PSC and ECC variations).
